The story

The record is still turning although no one is in the room. Album sleeves lie across the rug beside a sofa left comfortably undone, while two glasses, an ashtray and a few books remain on the marble table. Warm lamplight settles over wood, fabric and vinyl. It is the familiar pause of an evening in progress, when the music continues and everything else can wait.
